Inauguration of the Renovated Africa Hall Livestream

The Inauguration of Africa Hall is scheduled to take place at 3.30 p.m. on 21 October 2024, a landmark event celebrating the festive reopening of this historic building.  Following extensive renovations, Africa Hall now stands as a modernized yet historically preserved site, reflecting its continued significance in pan-African and global diplomacy.

This inauguration is not just a celebration of the restoration of Africa Hall, but also a reaffirmation of its pivotal role as a venue for fostering diplomatic and cultural dialogue. It will serve as a hub for strengthening Africa’s unity and promoting collective objectives. The renovated Africa Hall will serve not only as a state-of-the-art conference site in Addis Ababa but also as a premier tourist destination, showcasing the rich history of the pan-African movement through a permanent exhibition of curated cultural, historical, and natural heritage sites. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience Africa's history, enjoy works of art from across the continent, and learn about the remarkable achievements of the United Nations and Ethiopia’s contribution to Africa’s modern history and culture.

The inauguration programme will feature a series of high-level events, to be held from 21 to 24 October 2024, including the unveiling of a new Visitors centre, public lectures, art exhibitions, literary performances, and creative activities, ending with the celebration of United Nations Day. The events will also be live streamed on UNWebTv.
